Fishes in trouble

The pump/filter on my aquarium recently went out. It was a great filter (a BioWheel), but getting it primed was always an issue. During the last water change, it never was able to restart. As a result, I had a number of my fishes die. I'm now in the slow process of rebuilding the tank, and I have to say that the people at Pet Smart at the Landing have been very helpful! Normally, I am highly disappointed with big box pet stores, but the folks at Pet Smart are bucking the trend. Another nice thing about our fair city... quality big box stores?

However, I do wish there was a locally owned fish store that I could frequent...

Just dropping by.

Since Erick was so kind to introduce me, I thought I would stop in quickly and say hello.

So...hello!

I haven't lived in Renton as long as Erick has, so I am still discovering pieces of it that I didn't know existed. I was driving home the other day and noticed that the Renton Civic Theatre has a production of Forever Plaid starting on Sept. 4! This thrilled me beyond belief, since it is one of my favorite musicals (I have already seen it 3 times, but that's ok). I'm excited that my first visit to the theater will be for this show. Y'all should see it. It's a fun, high-energy, fantastic show!

Now if only Erick hadn't just mentioned Naan ~n~ Curry to me. I haven't been ever, and now I'm craving Palak Paneer at 11:30 PM!

Back from grave

It's been a while, but I've decided to revive this blog. I still live in Renton, but I now live on Renton Hill, which is an awesome little community just across the freeway from downtown. If you don't know about it, it would be hard to find... whenever someone comes to visit, I have to give *very* specific directions. :-)

In order to keep this blog alive and kicking, I introduce Kris, who will be helping me maintain this blog. She is an awesome girl, and is coming to love our home at the south end of the lake as much as I do. She will be posting here, as will I. With all the exciting new things happening downtown, we shouldn't lack for material!

We just saw District 9 down at the Landing. To be honest, I was a little iffy about the Landing when it was under construction. I was afraid that it was going to be a horrid strip mall type of place (a la most of the area around South Center), which would have been a waste of some of the best land in the area. We are lucky that it was developed much better than that, and includes a nice new theatre which seems to be doing quite well. And if you like Sci-Fi, or just a good movie, go see District 9! I just wished that they showed some independent movies as well. Perhaps someday....
